Kasaragod Co Operative Educational Society Ltd.
The College is managed by the Kasaragod Co Operative Educational Society Ltd. With the vision of its founder Adv. P Raghavan (Ex MLA) to provide uncompromised higher education facilities for the marginalized class in the region, the Society established in the year 1983 with its head quarters at Munnad.
The Kasaragod Co Operative Educational Society Ltd established in the year 1983 with a view to contribute for the educational development of Kasaragod District. The Society now has 374 class ‘A’ members who collectively contribute the wellbeing of the region. The ultimate aim of the society is to provide quality education for the youth to contribute to their job career and also to uplift the living standard of the region.
The Society had its first focus over Kasaragod taluk and now is widespread across the district in comparatively short span of time. The effort and work of the Society is focused on a period when a child get admitted in LKG will get a chance to study upto MBA in a single edu city called EMS Akshara Gramam, which is named after EMS Namboothirippad.
The Society strive to build some ideal institutions in the region where a Noble Citizen born and nurtured. For this several institutions have started in various places in the district providing various types of courses including technical, scientific, arts, music, dance, athletic, commercial and managerial discipline.
The main organs of the Society in nutshell will illustrate how the Society is contributing to the region.
EMS Akshara Gramam
Literally, it’s an edu-city named after EMS Namboothirippad is located in Munnad where Colleges, Institutes, Auditorium, Play Ground, and amenity places are provided to educate the youth in various discipline, including Arts, Commerce, Management, Science, Music, Yoga, Sports, Hotel Management etc.
People institute of Management Studies
To Provide Professional education for Rural Youth, Society has started a centre for MBA courses in Finance, marketing, HR and tourism namely, People Institute of Management Studies in the academic year 2009-10. The institution is a substitute for the similar centres located in Managalore, Kochi, Bengaluru and Sullia where costs for the study is very huge.
Peoples Co Operative Arts & Science College
The Society have established an Arts & Science College with the recognition from Government of Kerala and affiliation with Kannur University in the academic year 2005-06. The largest Self Financing College in Co Operative Sector, Peoples College now offers 4 Post Graduation Courses, 13 Graduation courses varies from Linguistic, Arts, Science, management and Commerce.
