The department was established in the year of 2014. Since 2014 the department has been growing by introducing curricular and extra curricular activities to the students. Sanctioned strength of the department is 144. At present there are 143 students.

Department believes in developing global competencies in students through quality education, and continuous innovation. The department provides a proficient environment to nurture commerce professionals with a high level of knowledge and competence to effectively contribute to the society with commitment and integrity. We offer B Com Co- operation, which is a regular 3 year programme.

Why B Com Co-operation @ People’s College Munnad

Prepare students to explore the core concepts in Commerce with special focus on Co-operative sector, one of the pillars of Indian Economy.

Through this programme a student gains comprehensive view of the functioning of a Co- operative institution and also cultivates good communication skills.

The course involves a blend of theoretical education and practical training which runs concurrently for a period of three years

The focus is also kept on developing soft skills of the students.

Commerce (Co- operation)  Association provides a platform for the students to exhibit their Talents in various commerce oriented events and will also help them to enhance their analytical and decision making skills. The incredible growth of Co-operative sector in Kerala State have brought out tremendous job opportunities to B Com (Co-operation) Graduates. Now the decision of the Govt. to establish “KERALA BANK” will lead to another boom in Co-operative sector jobs. Bank Clerk, Co-operative bank auditor, Co-operative Inspector and many other job vacancies are awaiting B Com Co-operation graduates. These graduates can also prefer higher studies like MCom, CA, CS, ICWA, CMA, MBA etc. B Com Co-operation graduates are eligible to apply for other Bank tests also. But Co-operative sector jobs are exclusively reserved for BCom (Co-operation) Graduates.
